Trains as a way of moving around Europe

Albania has no passenger rail network to speak of, but most of Europe does, and that is exactly where our train ticketing service becomes useful. Once a client has already reached the continent, by air or by ferry, the train often becomes the most pleasant way to continue between cities, particularly in Italy, France, Germany and Spain, where the rail network is dense and dependable.

Rail passes

For anyone planning to visit several cities in sequence, a rail pass often works out better than buying individual tickets. Because Albania counts as a European country for the purposes of this pass, its residents qualify for the Interrail Global Pass, the same one used by French or Italian travellers, not the Eurail version, which is aimed at travellers based outside Europe. It is a detail many travellers are not aware of, and one that can save both time and confusion while planning.

The high-speed lines

High-speed rail has changed how people move around Western Europe: Frecciarossa and Italo connect Milan, Florence, Rome and Naples within Italy; France's TGV runs from Paris to other cities at a speed that makes the train genuinely competitive with flying over medium distances; Spain's AVE links Madrid with Barcelona; Germany's ICE covers the country's north-south spine. Eurostar and Thalys connect London, Paris, Brussels and Amsterdam under the Channel and across the Benelux region.

City centre to city centre

The train's biggest advantage is a simple one: stations usually sit in the heart of the city, not out on the edge of town the way airports do. That means less time lost in transfers, especially between cities that already sit relatively close together, such as Rome and Florence, or Vienna and Prague. Baggage is handled differently from flying too, without the strict weight limits of airline check-in, which makes the train comfortable for anyone travelling with several bags.

Seat reservations

Some high-speed trains, such as Frecciarossa or the TGV, require a mandatory seat reservation, which is included automatically when you buy the ticket through us. Regional trains, on the other hand, often let you board without an assigned seat, which makes them more flexible if your plans change at the last moment.
